What is your favorite jewelry accessory? Is it rings, bracelets, earrings, or necklaces? Everyone has a preference and if yours are necklaces you’re in luck, because today we want to share with you this fabulous classy cameo necklace. The small, detailed charms lay cozily next to each other in this quaint cameo necklace. Created by the Plaid design team, this necklace incorporates items from the new and very popular Martha Stewart jewelry craft line.

Don’t be intimidated if you have never done jewelry crafting before, with this new line there are great guides on how to create the pieces you desire. We hope this project inspires you to unleash your inner designer. Below are all the supplies you will need, along with their instructions. Enjoy!

Other Supplies

Thin gold chain
Gold head pins
Gold lobster clasp

Instructions

  1. Cut chain to desired length.
  2. Attach gold lobster clasp to loose ends of chain with gold jump rings.
  3. Slide a bead from each strand through the head pins and make a loop at the top. If you want to add an extra element of wire-wrapped detail, make a loop above the bead and wrap the extra wire around the base of the loop as pictured.
  4. Attach each metal charm pictured to a jump ring.
  5. Attach all charms to the center of chain as pictured or as desired. Attaching the jump rings through links in the chain will keep them separated as you wear the necklace. Attaching the jump rings around the chain will allow them to fall together in a cluster as you wear the necklace.

Tip: Use the leftover beads and charms to make a matching bracelet or earrings!
